YARD to help County integrate mobility into its economic development strategy
The Community Foundation of Elkhart County has engaged YARD & Company to help build and implement a county-wide mobility and economic development strategy called Connect In Elkhart County. With its partners at Toole Design Group, the team will be collaborating with MACOG, the County, its cities and towns, existing trail organizations, corporate leadership and institutional anchors to help the region:
Build infrastructure that works for recreation, transportation and economic development
Better connect communities within the county and connect the county to its surroundings
Identify and fill gaps to building and operating the network and
Determine the Foundation’s optimal role(s) in supporting implementation
“The more trails and pathways we have, the easier it is for people in our community to commute and exercise safely. The impact is both a stronger community and healthier environment. We are excited about the growing participation between all our communities and groups that can help make a community-wide network of trails and pathways a reality in our county. We are stronger together than we are separately. The Community Foundation’s leadership can help us boost these joint efforts.”
