YARD & Company wins international award

YARD & Company has been awarded the Congress for New Urbanism Charter Award for the OpenNorfolk project. Working with project partners at the City of Norfolk, Work Program Architects, Team Better Block, the Downtown Norfolk Council and Teens with a Purpose, YARD & Company was responsible for designing, implementing and managing for 6 months the Neighborhood Spots component of OpenNorfolk.

Covid presented real design problems that could be solved through Tactical Urbanism, and Norfolk showed how to use this concept across a city, and not just ride on the coattails of the times
