Wilson 301

The City of Wilson, North Carolina, engaged YARD & Company to create a revitalization strategy for a portion of its Highway 301 corridor. The goal of this project is to uncover the true potential of the corridor and surrounding neighborhoods through an active, iterative and collaborative process to inform a smart and strategic ten-year reinvestment strategy. With the BUILD grant enabled reconstruction of a major portion of 301, the need for a reinvestment strategy for the neighborhoods along it has come to the forefront. The planning actively engaged the community around and created a framework for what future growth might look like. It will ensure that future growth reflects current values, culture, history and demographics while broadening economic potential for residents, business owners and visitors. Community stakeholders played an active role in prototyping and testing demand for ideas that emerge during the process.
